Iain Sinclair conceived the flat flashlight in 1983. Using Polaroid's extremely high current, flat battery, Liteblade (now superseded), was launched at the frankfurt Messe in 1988 and earned a Design Plus award.

Just 5mm thin this stainless steel masterpiece was the first commercially available flat torch.

Flashcard, invented by Iain Sinclair in 1992, at one sixth the cost of Liteblade made it's debut at Frankfurt Messe in February 1994 and at Dallas, USA in June of that year. The outstand success of these two products and the missions of units that have been sold has established an entirely new, ultra convenient shape for flashlights - a shape very suitable for customization and of high novelty value.
