| LeefBody Aleph and SureFire E Series Heads and SureFire C series tailcaps
Fits Aleph and SureFire "E Series" Heads **NOTE: SEE BELOW** and C series tailcaps - DOES NOT FIT THE SMALLER E SERIES TAILCAPS
Tailcaps - SW01 / SW02 / z41 / z48 / z49 / z58 / z59. Also fits G&P A.I. Strobe Tailcap.
CONSTRUCTION The body was machined on a CNC lathe from 6061 heat treated aluminum alloy.
LUBRICATION Please do not assemble this body to any part without some lubrication on the threads. Galling can occur on completely un-lubricated threads.
There is a greater variation in SF E heads, because they don't have a spring (like the M and some/all C heads) to make up small differences in body, battery and head dimensions, and because of similar variations in Aleph heads. For these reasons there is some variation in the fit of these bodies, but we think they will work in most, if not all situations, with the included magnet and c-rings.
A magnet is needed between the forward battery (+) terminal and the head, since most head (+) terminals are sunk to afford a bit of reverse polarity protection. Additionally, a magnet is needed between batteries on the 4x bodies.
The C-ring is to take up space -- length -- at the front of the body. E bodies ground to the head at the rear of the LE (on the Aleph heads) and at a similar location on the SF heads. Because of variation in the depth of the LE ground flange (due to the depth of the LE seating), sometimes the body bottoms out at the rear of the head instead of on the ground flange, hence not making a ground connection. When this happens, the c-ring can be inserted without tools in front of the body, around the LE rear section, to fill in the difference.
One o-ring is for the tail cap, and another is put at the base of the head threads. On some occasions, a head may not allow this. |
